The Process for Getting Your Estate Plan Completed

One of the things that sets us apart from other firms is our estate planning process. Our process ensures that we take the time to get to know you, listen to your concerns, understand your needs, and make recommendations based on what best suits your family.

Step 1.    Initial Consultation.   During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss your goals for your estate plan, and I’ll describe the basics of the estate planning process.  After listening carefully to your needs and wishes, I’ll offer my recommendation on what type of plan will work best to meet your needs and discuss pricing.  We’ll also set up a timeline for completing your plan, and I’ll give you materials that will help organize and simplify the estate planning process.

Step 2.   Document Preparation.  I’ll prepare your customized estate plan based on our conversation and what’s right for you and your loved ones.  I’ll email copies of your plan to you for your review.  If you'd like to schedule a meeting to review your documents in person, we'll schedule a meeting to do so.

Step 3.   Document Review & Signing.  At this meeting, we’ll review the documents and address any concerns you or questions you have.  This is your estate plan and its important you understand how it works.  We'll then sign your documents and make your plan official.  If you’re using a Living Trust, my office will take care of recording the deeds to transfer any real property into your trust.

Step 4.   Document Delivery.  After your signing, I'll copy your documents and prepare an Estate Planning Binder to help you stay organized.   You're welcome to pick it up at my office or I can drop it in the mail to you.  I'll also email you electronic copies of your completed documents, so that you have them in hard copy and electronic form.
