Funding Your Trust

To obtain the probate avoidance and other benefits of your Revocable Living Trust, it is extremely important for you to “fund” your Trust by transferring your assets into the Trust, or directing your assets to your Trust upon your death.

Please complete the items on the “Trust Funding To Do List” we reviewed during  your Signing Meeting. Your “To Do List” sets forth how your specific assets should be titled to align with the goals of your unique estate plan.  In the future, each time you acquire a new asset or open a new financial account, it is important to make sure that asset is properly added to your Trust.

Please feel free to reach out to our office if you have any questions about trust funding, whether an asset is properly titled, beneficiary designation forms, or anything else related to transferring assets into your Trust.

For more information on Trust Funding, please review our “Trust Funding – Quick Reference Sheet” and “Instructions for Transferring Assets To Trust”, available below.
