Shaila Buckley
Founder & Principal Attorney
Shaila founded Shaila Buckley Law to help Idaho families protect their loved ones through high-quality, customized estate planning. She deliberately runs her practice differently from a typical law firm, prioritizing taking the time to listen to her clients and understand their wants and needs. She explains estate planning using clear, easy-to-understand language and lots of illustrations and demonstratives. She then guides her clients through the decision-making process to create an estate plan that accomplishes their goals and protects their loved ones.
After graduating from Stanford Law School, Shaila began her career working at large corporate law firms in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Palo Alto. Over a decade ago, when her daughters were 1 and 3, Shaila and her husband Matt made the decision to leave their busy jobs in the Bay Area and move to Boise in search of a better quality of life. They've never looked back!
Shaila is the author of two books on estate planning, Estate Planning for Idahoans: Wills, Trusts, and Everything Else You Need to Take Care of Yourself and Your Loved Ones, and The Trustee's Legal Companion: A Step-by-Step Guide to Administering a Living Trust.
Shaila is a Fellow with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), a national organization of approximately 2,400 leading trust and estate lawyers elected by their peers based on their professional reputation and expertise. She is also a member of the Idaho State Bar's Tax and Estate Section and serves as Chair of the Section's Education Committee.
In the community, Shaila volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for the Saint Alphonsus Foundation and serves on the Endowment Committees at the WCA (Women's and Children's Alliance) and the Idaho Women's Charitable Foundation.
In her free time, Shaila enjoys spending time with her husband Matt, and her (now) teenage daughters. Shaila loves Sun Valley and cross-country skiing.

Receptionist & Paralegal
Jenna joined Shaila Buckley Law as our Receptionist and Paralegal to help make a positive difference in people's lives. Whether scheduling appointments, answering questions, or managing the details of your estate plan, Jenna ensures every client feels supported and informed. Her warm, patient approach and genuine care for clients keep our practice running like a well-oiled machine, and her smile lights up the office.
A native Idahoan, Jenna lives in Emmett with her husband and three children. On the weekends, you may find her cheering at her daughter's softball tournaments and her son's Little League games.
Matthew Buckley
Business Manager
Matt is the business manager at Shaila Buckley Law and Shaila's husband. He oversees the firm's operations, finances, and client billing, bringing years of business expertise to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Matt has an MBA from UCLA and recently stepped back from a long career at Micron to manage the practice and support Shaila's vision of providing exceptional, personalized estate planning services. He's always happy to assist with any billing questions or administrative matters.
When he’s not working, Matt is an avid skier who can be found on the slopes at Bogus Basin or Sun Valley throughout the winter months, enjoying both downhill and cross-country skiing. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Matt remains a devoted Denver Broncos fan. He and Shaila live in Boise with their two daughters.
